This is not directly related to the tour, but a story I'd like to share, and a story that comes to mind, being around so many passionate people on the European tour. I mostly hear, warm, great, loving and wild stories, about how this band has played a significant, positive and game-changing part of som many different peoples life, but also stories that relates to some of the toughest challenges we all face in life. Pearl Jam’s history, songs and words covers the full plate; life as well as death.
London did call ...
And what a voice yesterday. Had the greatest day. Dead early flight from Copenhagen. I made it, slightly shivering when actually sat in the seat, no more comments on that (oouuch). Get out of that door in good time, you big … !
Made it to the Wishlist Foundation party, at around 1.00 pm. A truly spectacular venue, right next to the Thames, directly opposite of the O2. Huge, classic, Britain at its best.
London Calling
Showtime, now for me as well. There's always something special about seeing your favorite band on your own territory. To call London my own backyard, is a slight exaggeration, but nevertheless just a two hour flight from Copenhagen, and a city I've visited +50 times, for interviews, shows, vacation and others.
Hope To Meet You In London
Hi everybody out there having fun, enjoying this great European summer, topped with World Cup Football, and definitely PJ Europe.
I'm psyched to see what the Seattle Fab Five (well six on stage) has up their sleeves, when I'm on for both nights at O2 in London this upcoming week. But equally excited to meet lots of old and new friends out there.
So many of you have been extremely supportive of my book, and most importantly; your comments, activities and actions, have been very parallel to the underlying feelings and vibe, I tried to catch in the book, in line with how I've experienced the core of Pearl Jam’s music, actions, spirit and soul.
Pearl Jam And The Ball
Europe tour, start Amsterdam, almost a tradition. I clearly remember 2014, where I saw both shows at the Ziggo Dome. A lucky guy with +2 to both shows, I was in good company, partly female, and then my brother and an old local college from Amsterdam got to see a show. Things were absolutely cooking outside the Dome, when we reached our destination. An area I mostly knew from Ajax Amsterdam, the famous traditional football club, where many danish stars has blossomed, and still do to this day. Lasse Schöne and Kasper Dolberg from Denmark's troup to World Cup in Russia 2018 are both currently shining stars in Ajax.
250 Fans From All Over the World Pledged To Bring New Pearl Jam Book To Life
"I just wanna scream THANK YOU .... My God it's been so long, I'd never dreamed this would return. But now, here you are, and here I am. Got 249 lovin'' backers on the passenger seat (and the wild silent #250. PJ Europe 18 announced just hours before campaign closure - Timing is everything). No Backspacers. Why go home? 'll ride the wave where it takes me. Happy and humble. Keep on rockin' in the free World," - Henrik Tuxen.
Stepping In the Ring
Luck comes to those who seek it out. That’s what soccer managers say after winning on a random own goal after being under siege for 95 minutes. And yet there’s still an element of truth to it; being in the right place at the right time, combined with equal parts curiosity and the ice water in your veins it takes to embrace chance and ride the wave where it takes you. Pure coincidence it may seem, but it isn’t. Why was I in that precise situation, right when those events began to transpire? That’s definitely the story of my life. A string of coincidences, events, people leading to the next. My work and family life appear logical, planned and organized, but nothing could be further from the truth..
