Hi all,
I’ve interviewed Stone Gossard over two one-hour sessions in April during the pandemic, together - alone in each of our home and country. But the Skype connection was good and the atmosphere and content even better.
Gigaton, Covid 19, activism, spirituality, the interaction in Pearl Jam, tough challenges, optimism, Eddie Vedder's state of the art, Jeff Ament peaking, track by track, more songs and albums in the future, etc.
Over the next couple of months there will be various publishing on print, web, radio and video. Lots of it in Danish, but not all. The ‘big’ written articles will be published on gaffa.dk upcoming Wednesday May 20, 2020 with the headline ‘We live on such a small Planet’ and I will briefly be on P6 Beat Radio the same day as a warm-up for later broadcast. In company with Captainkiddbooks.com and Pearl Jam Nordic, we’ll continue our ‘Stuck in our boxes’ concept, going into various details of what Stone is talking about, starting up soon.
Here’s a snippet from the interview, where Stone is talking about his old band-buddy Jeff Ament, from way back when in Green River 1984.
Jeff is so good on this record
Stone – Isn’t he, you really hit the nail on the head, he’s like peaking right in terms of his ability to play this machine. He knows how to interact with Pearl Jam in a way that gets a lot out of it. He’s an inspiration now for sure
Even a song like the opening, Who ever said, is amazing. All the line and textures Jeff do around the chorus. it adds that drive and melancholic greatness. You feel this
Stone – Totally, He’s the musical leader of the band right now, which is awesome. I love it.
To be continued…
