Eddie Vedder and members of the Polish fan group “Touring Poles.” Forum, Copenhagen. July 10th, 2012.
Polish Jammers – Louder and happier – The Touring Tribe.
I’ve never been to Poland, and that’s a mistake. I even had a sweet polish girlfriend at one point . But I’ve met lots of great polish PJ fans over the years, who’ve struck me with their enthusiasm and insight into the world and music of this band.
Stone Gossard told me that Krakow 2018 was one of the best nights on the tour that year. I was planning to go ….. but there you go. This year Anna Czebiolko (a teacher in Leeds originally from Poland) wrote to me, revealing a deep insight into the spiritual aspects of PJ, not at least on Gigaton. She became a good friend.
And then there’s the super enthusiast Maciek and his gang of touring poles. My publisher Marie Hansen found this amazing picture of Eddie and a group of fans, which would just fit perfectly with my book. Following an intensive investigation, including PJ HQ, we tracked down the polish gang, and was allowed to use this picture. It turned out it was from Copenhagen, Denmark. As described earlier I met with Eddie, Stone and Mike just minutes after this picture was taken. Maciek later gave me a Touring Tribe t-shirt, which I’ve been wearing proudly ever since.
A big salute to all polish PJ fans. See you on tour in 2021.
